Mid Season Planning for 2011-2012 5/6 Crew

This is the start of the new blog for the next 5/6 Crew. It is very exciting to be thinking of next year and all that we will do together.
Right now I am in the middle of planning all of next year's expeditions after, just yesterday, getting the classroom tweaked just right for 24  bustling students. We have half the space of the old room, but will have twice as much fun as we all learn this new setting. It is good for us all to be at this new place together.
 The incoming 5th graders will be graciously greeted and welcomed by the new 6th grade class. This crew has been with me for 2 years and can mentor and help this new group learn the ins and outs of our Crew routines.  Together,we will be creating a whole new crew which we talked about at the end of the year. We are all open and looking forward to getting to know each other.:)
I have just written a Hello Letter and Supply List. It'll go out soon. As I stated in the letter, please visit the classroom when you can in the first few months of school. All of us getting to know each other helps communication throughout the whole year. It is my joy to get to be with your kids each day!!

For the  golden days coming on the Palouse, I will get to travel with my Mom driving to Alabama starting July 24 and then driving back with my daughter. School starts for teachers officially on August 22--you know the go-getters I work with have been in there and doing lots already.

I'll update this blog right after school starts when I have gotten some pictures of the kids.
